There is something about a new baby that bring so much joy! Newborns are so precious, and each one brings a special bit of love and goodness to the world in their own way. I love hearing from the parents and families of the newborns who come into my studio; getting to know them helps me plan their session of course, but it also makes my heart leap to hear about some of the miracles and circumstances that each family goes through to add a baby. Whether after infertility, infant loss, miscarriage, or adoption loss, there is sometimes great heartache that leads to the arrival of a newborn, and I don’t take it for granted that these families entrust me with their littles, or that I get to share their stories (with permission). As I mention time and time again, I sincerely love what I do, and getting the opportunity is not something I take lightly, either.
Logan Sean entered the world in May, weighing in at five pounds, eleven ounces. His mom greatly treasures every moment with him, after suffering the loss of two pregnancies before his birth. They suffered several complications with Logan’s pregnancy, and she says, “During the last pregnancy, I found a wonderful doctor who specialized in the medical conditions I had. He helped hundreds of women carry to term successfully, so we flew to meet him and had procedures done to help me in this pregnancy. Then, we were able to conceive Logan safely, and he is happy, healthy, and our rainbow baby.” As a baby photographer, I hear lots of stories of rainbow babies and healing after loss, but I never tire of it. Each baby is a miracle!
