Stunning. That’s the first adjective that comes to mind when I look back through Tara’s session. This mom-to-be was so elegant, and so fun to spend time with. She wore a beautiful flower halo, designed by Heaven Sent (click here to go to their Facebook page, you won’t be sorry you did!), and she had on a lacy gown from Baby in Vogue (click here) that perfectly complimented the color palette of the shoot. I provide the wardrobe for maternity sessions, and the halo and gown are just a couple items in a wide variety to choose from. There are so many beautifully designed gowns in the wardrobe, the one Tara had on is just one of many!
We chatted in between shots about her pregnancy, and everything she’s learned already through her experience with a life growing in her womb. Her wisdom matched her beauty (and wit) as she talked about what this massive blessing has been like so far. “What’s most rewarding about being pregnant? Well, naps are acceptable, for one! You don’t have to suck in, people give you their seats.. but seriously, the most rewarding aspect is the whole process that goes into becoming a mother.” She continued: “I have dreamed about this, and I’ve felt like this was my purpose in life for the longest time. And now the time has finally come! The human body amazes me: God allows us to create life! I love being able to feel my son move around, and as each day passes our bond grows. We struggled with getting pregnant, and have had a history of fertility issues. But our son’s existence shows what a blessing this whole journey has been to us.” I asked her what she looked forward to when she brings her little Watson into the world: “As a parent, I look forward to seeing my son for the first time, seeing his unique, tiny smile, hearing his giggles, and watching my husband become a father. I’m excited to watch their bond grow as we experience all his milestones. And of course, the vacations as a three-piece family!”
I loved hearing about Watson’s nursery. Tara described it to me: “His nursery has a Southwest feel to it. I grew up in west Texas and loved everything about my childhood. Knowing Watson wouldn’t get that chance, I wanted to bring some of those southern vibes into his nursery. Besides, I am not one to follow the norm, like sporty or nautical themes. Instead, in Watson’s nursery you’ll find a lot of cactus, Aztec prints, arrows, buffalos, dream catchers, a huge cow skull, and the cutest handmade rocking horse made with love from his Granna.” Watson is one lucky guy to have a mother like Tara. I wish them all the best as they welcome their little blessing into the world!
