This little baby, like all of my clients, is very loved by his family. But, there is something very special about him, and it’s because his mom started praying for him long before he was even born. Four and a half years ago, his mom and dad got very challenging news about his big sister, Hynslee, who now lives with special needs. “Finding out I was pregnant again was nerve-wracking, and some fearful feelings started to rise”, says mom, “I told myself to not live in fear, and to just trust God with all my heart. I reminded myself to think daily about being thankful for every moment.” Even though she was putting her trust in the Lord, mom says she also was hoping for a boy. “I’m sure you are all aware of the scripture, Matthew 7:7-8, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened”, continues mom, “Well, to be honest with you, that’s exactly what I did. It may be silly to everyone, but I still would have loved our child if she was a girl, but I prayed for the opposite. I honestly couldn’t picture my husband loving another little girl and mesmerizing over another, like he does our Hynslee.”
In the beginning of 2017, they found out they were having a very healthy baby boy. They were very thankful and also very excited. One of their friends had suggested the name “Ridge” and they fell in love with it, because it was unique and different. The middle name, “Jennings” is because dad is a big fan of Waylon Jennings! “Not only are we blessed to have Ridge, so are our children. Especially our little girl (our miracle girl, as she is terminally ill), they have been pals since Ridge was in the womb. She would lay her head on the side of my stomach and he would move and she would suck her thumb and her head would just start moving”, continues mom, “When I laid Ridge beside his sister for the first time, and held him there, I have never seen my daughter so happy. She grabbed him and her face lit up in her own way, she was so comfortable and gentle with him. I know there are so many reasons we were given Ridge, but one I know for sure is he can bring out so much in his sister, it’s amazing and truly beautiful on the eyes to watch. I would say Ridge and his sister are the best of pals.”
I loved meeting this little blessing, and know he is in for a lifetime of love and happiness.
