“Oh, the places you’ll go”…that was the phrase that came to mind when I was dreaming up the cake smash with this little guy’s mom. She was open to ideas, and I was inspired by travel, a vintage feel, and the dreams every parent has for their child. Elver recently turned one year old, and this was the perfect way to celebrate. Mom shared with me that, “He has brought so much joy and happiness to our family, especially since his older sister has always been wanting a baby sibling. His sweet personality suits him, and he is always smiling and being silly” She adds that he really enjoys playing with their family dog, and being outdoors.

It was my honor to capture his precious little personality, which was as darling as his mom explained. He had plenty of smiles to share with me, and he loved exploring all of the props we added to his setup. You may noticed Elver’s super stylish cake; one of the amazing semi-naked cakes that are so popular on Pinterest. They are a natural, simple option (and parents love that it’s just a touch less frosting/sugar!), that looks great with a neutral and minimalist backdrop. It keeps all the focus on the little one, where it should be! Elver’s mom added, “He’s just learning new things every day, and he is a true blessing to have”, and I couldn’t agree more. It was a blessing for me to get to be the photographer for this wonderful little man!
