Life is not always fair.

Sometimes, we will never understand the “why”, but it’s in those tough times that we have to trust. This session holds a special place in my heart, because of the circumstances surrounding it. I never had the privilege of meeting the mom of this beautiful little girl, except through Facebook conversations. She contacted me, as most mommies do, to reserve her newborn session date a few weeks before delivery. As soon as this darling girl arrives, mom messaged me to schedule her session, and I couldn’t wait to meet them both. Just a few short days later, I received a message from the mom’s sister, explaining that mom had gained her angel wings.

I was completely devastated. My heart broke into a million pieces, and I cried. I just couldn’t understand. The sister explained that they wanted to honor Alina’s mom by continuing on with this session, and capture these memories even during a very emotional time. I was so thrilled and touched that they would do this, and grateful for the honor. I will be honest, the day was very hard for me emotionally, but I loved holding this little girl. I prayed for her, and gave her a few extra cuddles, and yes, I shed a few tears. I pray often for this little one and her journey ahead. I know it will be difficult, but God will provide for them every step of the way. As you look at this precious baby, say a prayer for her.
