I have photographed hundreds of babies, children, and families (it might be getting close to thousands these days!), and I never get tired of it. I love that this is my job, because I feel it is my calling. One of the best parts of my job is celebrating that milestone first birthday for little ones and their parents. This little girl is named Emery, and she recently turned one. Her mom, Destiney, is the sweetest, and you can tell how much she loves being a mom. “When we were naming her, I had a dream and woke up to tell my husband what we would name her. He loved the name Emery,” mom explained, “Emery has a lot of personality and enjoys dancing and playing with her teddy bears. She also loves waving at people and going on walks.” As a family, they enjoy spending time with their local church and watching Emery interact with other children.

“The most rewarding thing that I can think of, is being able to see the smile on her face when we walk in the door!”, adds mom, “We love going to the park and finding new places to explore.” To celebrate Emery turning one, we did a sweet and simple setup for the first few shots, and then an adorable boho/vintage styled setup. She loved her cake and I enjoyed seeing her spunky personality. You may notice that I do white backdrops for many of my setups, and it’s because it really puts the spotlight on the baby…it’s super fun to see their smiles and features very clearly. Parents love it! We offer a variety of setups so that all our clients can have the look that they want, and we design each session to suit the little one or family in the photos.
