What an honor to share that my photography journey has been featured on Shoutout DFW, a platform that shines a spotlight on local talents and entrepreneurs. As I reflect on the path that led me here, I’m reminded of the privilege of connection that photography has given me, to both clients and my own creative journey.
From the early days of my childhood, I found fascination in capturing the world through a lens. However, it was the profound experience of parenthood that elevated my love for photography. Every moment, every giggle, and every milestone of my daughters became a canvas for my lens. Encouraged by my children, I took my first steps into the realm of professional photography in 2010, initially focusing on the beautiful chaos of family life (and there was plenty of content 🙂
As the years unfolded, so did my skills and aspirations. A pivotal moment came when I decided to specialize in newborn photography. Eager to master this delicate art, I reached out to mentors and immersed myself in workshops, honing my craft to freeze those precious early moments of life. This decision marked the beginning of a new and important chapter in my photography career.
The interview below touches upon the challenges inherent in the photography business. Yet, I count myself incredibly blessed to have had the privilege of working with amazing clients who have become an integral part of my journey. While challenges exist, the commitment to providing exceptional customer service has been the cornerstone of my business. My photography style is an extension of my personality: warm and rich, much like the earth tones I favor for all seasons. Clients who choose to embark on a session with me receive more than just a photography service; they gain access to a beautifully curated client closet, exclusive to them. It’s a small touch that aims to alleviate the stress of wardrobe selection.
I’m so grateful for this feature, and hope you’ll read the interview below:
