New mom must-have’s!
As a parent, navigating the world of baby products can be overwhelming. From countless gadgets to must-have essentials, it’s easy to get lost in the sea of choices. After going through the baby phase with my own little ones and now my grandchildren, I’ve discovered a few standout items that truly made a difference. I’ve also worked with countless new moms. Here’s a list of the baby items they are loving, and the ones they’d buy again based on practicality!
Owlet Smart Sock: This amazing little invention can give you peace of mind with its ability to monitor your baby’s heart rate and oxygen levels. This smart monitor connects to your phone, providing real-time updates and alerts. It’s a fantastic tool for any parent concerned about their baby’s wellbeing during sleep. The Owlet Smart Sock is a hit with parents and babies.
Boppy Nursing Pillow: This one was invaluable for breastfeeding and bottle-feeding. It’s comfortable, supportive design made feeding sessions easier and more enjoyable. Plus, it can always double as a cozy spot for tummy time and early learning activities!
Pack ‘n Play with Bassinet: This duo is a game-changer for so many parents. It serves as a safe, portable sleeping space that you could take anywhere: from grandparents’ houses to vacations. The bassinet feature was ideal for those first few months, making it easy to keep baby close by. It’s adjustable design helps keep baby snug and safe, reducing the risk of loose blankets in the crib.
Multiple changing pads: In the middle of the night, having more than one changing pad will be a huge help. Moms agree that being able to swap them out easily is a must-have. One great tip is to layer changing pads with disposable puppy pads so that when they get wet or soiled, you can simply move to the next layer! They usually carry puppy pads or similar disposable pads at the dollar store.
Wipe warmer: Although this one isn’t super necessary, it’s a nice little luxury item to have in the middle of the night, and when it’s chilly outside. Baby won’t have to worry about cold wipes when they are sleepy or tired. Plus, it’s really handy to use wipes for wiping up spills or spit-up marks on yourself or baby’s clothes. Look for a wipe warmer that works on an electrical plug or batteries for ease of use.
Sound machine: You will love having a sound machine, whether you’re on vacation or at home. Many new moms rave about the Hatch machine, because it features a soothing alarm that uses light to wake you, instead of annoying sound. Plus, it features ocean and other soothing sounds to help you and baby stay soundly sleeping. The Hatch Rest 2 is also under $75, and you could use it in a guest room after baby is older.
