Pregnancy is such a tender, beautiful season of life, and it passes so quickly. As a maternity photographer in here DFW, I know how easy it is to get caught up in preparing for baby, and before you know it, that sweet bump is gone and your little one is in your arms. That’s why I always encourage expecting moms to take a little time to document this chapter. These photos aren’t just for you now, they’re for your child someday too.
When should I book maternity photos in DFW?
The most popular time to book your maternity session is when you’re between 28 and 34 weeks along. By this point, your bump is usually showing well, but you’re still feeling fairly comfortable and mobile. That combination helps us get those glowing, joyful images without you feeling too tired or worn down. If you’re carrying twins or multiples, I recommend scheduling a little earlier, between 24 and 28 weeks, since things can move faster with more than one baby on board.
If you’re wondering when to actually reach out, the answer is early. The second trimester is the perfect time to start the conversation so we can find a date that works for both of us. My schedule tends to fill up several months ahead, and booking early also gives us time to plan your wardrobe, talk through your vision, and make sure everything is ready with plenty of breathing room.
What else should I know?
There are a few things I like to walk through with every expecting mama as we plan your session:
- First, we will select the perfect location! Some mamas love the soft, golden glow of an open field. Others feel more comfortable in our DFW studio, so we will select just the right spot!
- If you’d like to include your partner or children, we’ll make sure to time things in a way that keeps it smooth and enjoyable for everyone.
- I also love incorporating little personal touches, like an ultrasound image. These details bring even more meaning to your photos.
- And of course, we’ll talk wardrobe. I have a huge selection of beautiful dresses to choose from, and we can find the perfect dress that fits and photographs well!
Once we’ve finished your session, I’ll send over your proofing gallery within approximately two weeks, depending on my schedule, and that will be communicated to you at that time. After you’ve picked your favorites, I’ll get to work editing and polishing each one with care. Your final gallery will be ready after that, and you’ll have the chance to turn those memories into printed keepsakes that last a lifetime.
