Every year I meet families who tell me they meant to take more photos of details, not the polished kind, but the tiny everyday moments they were sure they would remember forever. As a nana and a photographer, I have learned that the things we believe will stay clear in our minds are often the first to fade, which is why I pay such close attention to the little details when families visit my Fort Worth studio.

I love photographing the way a newborn curls their toes when they stretch and how the light settles on the soft wisps of their hair. There is something so tender about the way a baby studies the faces of the people who love them most, almost as if they have known them far longer than these early weeks. These simple details may feel small in the moment, yet years from now they become the memories parents cling to with so much gratitude.
Parents here in Fort Worth often tell me they never noticed how their baby rests a tiny hand on their chest while being held, even though it happens every single day. Later, when they see that moment captured, it becomes one of their favorite images because it holds a feeling they did not realize was slipping by. Little habits like that change quickly, and sometimes all it takes is one photograph to preserve something that disappears before anyone expects it.

I also love paying attention to the way families naturally interact. The way a big sister leans in to smell her baby brother’s hair often happens before she realizes what she is doing, and the soft humming a mother uses to calm her baby usually comes straight from instinct. When a father smiles without thinking as a tiny hand wraps around his finger, it tells a story that no posed image ever could. These moments remind families of how their home felt in the quiet in between.
My hope is always to create photographs that feel warm, comforting, and true to the season a family is living in. I want parents to look back and remember not just what their baby looked like, but how these early days felt in the slow, sweet moments that often pass unnoticed.
If you want images that hold onto these small and meaningful details, I would love to welcome you into my cozy space here in Fort Worth and help you create something beautiful for your growing family.
