“A mother’s joy begins when new life is stirring inside…
when a tiny heartbeat is heard for the very
first time, and a playful kick reminds her that she is never alone.” -Unknown
You may notice right off the bat that these are a departure from my traditional style, but I love them. Sweet Jessica, the new mommy, was wanting something in a black and white, backlit style, and I really enjoyed getting this style set up. I love that it has a moody, stylized look, and the black and white coloring captures the emotions of the shoot. Jessica and her husband were amazing to work with, and were very natural at their posing…they rocked it! “Being pregnant with Scarlett was something I absolutely loved”, adds Jessica, “You hear so many stories of how miserable it is, but for me, I was blessed with an amazing pregnancy. I miss the baby being in my belly and all of her kicks, jabs, and hiccups. I remember one night, she kicked me hard, and I pushed back lightly and she responded with another kick! It was so cool, and it was my daughter responding to her mama for the first time! I will always cherish the time I was pregnant with her”.
Because their family is filled with many boys (Scarlett will have eight boy cousins!), her parents were delighted to find out she was a girl. “I could hardly wait”, explains Jessica, “We ordered a gender test online, and I wanted a boy for him to carry on his name, and to have a son. But I knew, deep down, it was a girl, and I think he did, too! We would have been happy with either one, and when I was seventeen weeks along, we found out at a sneak peek ultrasound. It was just him and I in the room, and was very special for us. She will be so protected and loved, and her daddy is already wrapped around her finger.” Jessica also joked that she receives a package a day from her husband shopping for the baby…I’m sure it is hard to resist! I know she will be extra loved. Enjoy these gorgeous maternity of Jessica and her husband, and baby bump Scarlett in her first photoshoot 😉 I am overjoyed these two have become parents, and can’t wait to watch their family grow in the years to come.
