As a newborn and family photographer, I have had the pleasure of capturing countless precious moments between mothers and their little ones. Today, on Mother’s Day, I am reminded of the incredible bond that exists between a mother and her child. So many of the mothers I know have overcome unimaginable odds to become mothers.
To all the mothers out there, whether you are biological, surrogate, adoptive, or a mother figure, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the immense love and dedication that you pour into your children each and every day. From sleepless nights to endless cuddles, you are the foundation upon which your family is built.
For those who have chosen surrogacy, IVF, or adoption to build their families, you have gone to extraordinary lengths to provide a loving home for your child. You have shown incredible strength and compassion in bringing a child into your life and raising them as your own. Your love knows no bounds, and your child is so lucky to have you as their mother.
To those who serve as mother figures, stepping in to fill the void left by biological parents, you have given your heart and soul to love and care for a child who needed it most. Your dedication and selflessness have made all the difference in your child’s life, and your love is no less real or meaningful than that of a biological mother.
As a photographer, it is my honor to capture the love and connection between all types of mothers and their children. From the tender moments of a newborn’s first days to the playful laughter of a family session, I am constantly in awe of the bond that exists between a mother and her child, regardless of how that relationship was formed.
So to all the mothers out there, I want to say thank you. Thank you for your endless love and unwavering devotion, no matter how you came to be a mother. Thank you for being the light in your child’s life and for guiding them through the ups and downs of this world. And to all the newborns out there, know that you are loved more than words can express, and that your mother, in whatever form she may come, will always be there to hold you close and keep you safe. Happy Mother’s Day!
