There are certain moments as a photographer that truly touch my heart, and this newborn session was definitely one of them. When I handed over the finished photos to the client and saw their reaction, it was incredibly moving. They were brought to tears, realizing that these images would be something they’d treasure for a lifetime. Out of all the beautiful moments we captured, the ones where mom is snuggling with baby Sunny really stand out; especially that sweet shot of Sunny holding a teddy bear almost as big as she is! It perfectly captures the innocence and joy of this special time.

For anyone getting ready for their own newborn photo session, this mama’s biggest tip was to give yourself plenty of time! Traveling with a newborn can be unpredictable, and blowouts happen, car seat struggles are real, and sometimes things just don’t go as planned! She’s totally right, and I always suggest doubling the time you think you’ll need for travel and feeding so that you can arrive relaxed and truly enjoy the experience. My studio is also a welcoming space where there is plenty of room and time to relax.

This particular session was extra meaningful because it marked the family’s last newborn. Knowing how important it was to preserve these memories made it all the more special for me. I’m so grateful I could be a part of capturing these moments that they’ll treasure forever.
