As a Fort Worth newborn photographer and a nana, I have a tender place in my heart for new moms. The postpartum days are beautiful, emotional, and often overwhelming. You’re learning your baby, healing your body, and figuring out how to care for yourself all at once. If you’re wondering how a newborn session works during postpartum, I want you to know, it can be a peaceful, gentle experience.
Your session will take place in my quiet, cozy studio filled with soft light and peaceful music. Whether you’re recovering from birth or adjusting to adoption or surrogacy, I’ll make sure you’re supported and never asked to do anything uncomfortable. There’s a place to sit and rest, and you are welcome to take breaks as needed. My heart is to serve you during this season, not add more stress.
Choosing what to wear can feel overwhelming during postpartum. That’s why I offer a beautiful client closet filled with flowy, neutral-toned dresses that are bump- and recovery-friendly if you desire. These gowns are soft, forgiving, and flattering, and I’ll help you pick one that makes you feel at ease. You don’t need to bring anything but yourself and baby, I’ve got the rest covered.
Postpartum life means things move a little slower, and that’s perfectly fine. Newborn sessions usually last around two hours, giving us room for feeding, cuddles, and diaper changes. I follow your baby’s lead, never rushing a pose or pushing past their limits. You can stay close by, relax, and know your baby is being handled with the utmost care.
Even if you don’t feel like yourself yet, I’ll help you feel calm and cared for throughout the session. With gentle posing, flattering light, and thoughtful styling, we’ll capture images that reflect the deep love and connection between you and your little one. These aren’t just portraits, they’re quiet celebrations of your motherhood journey.
I’ve held space for many new mamas over the years. Sometimes we talk, sometimes we sit in the quiet. I’ve offered tissues, water, and warm smiles to women who needed a moment. I understand postpartum is as emotional as it is physical. My job is not just to take photos but to serve you with kindness and grace.
Even in the exhaustion and uncertainty, these days are precious. Your baby will only be this tiny once. When you look back, you’ll see not just how small they were…but how deeply you loved them, even when you were healing. These photos will be a reminder of your strength, your tenderness, and the beauty of this season.
