Occasionally, a parent will contact me when their baby is a little bit older, and wonder if a newborn session can still happen. While the ideal age is 7-14 days for those stunning posed images of your sleep babe, we want every client to be able to document such a special time, and we know some mamas are recovering from a Section, or face other obstacles to getting in that early. For older newborns (older than 14 days), we do a lifestyle type session focused on the sweetness of this age, and the connection between baby and mom/dad. They are more candid, and really feature the family unit, and we usually dress baby in a simple onesie to highlight their face and personality (we call these the “white onesie” sessions!).

This is Mateo Elias. His name means “gift from God”, which was fitting for him because he was his parents’ miracle babe. They plan to decorate his nursery in neutral colors and an animal theme. I loved his thick, dark hair, and that he was trying to give me all kinds of adorable facial expressions! What a beautiful family, and what a gift this little boy is!
