Who is the “right” photographer? This is a question many families ask themselves when they are seeking out who and where to capture their families in the different seasons of life. It’s important to choose the person who is the best fit for you and your loved ones, and that means it may not be the same person as your friends have chosen, or even someone you’ve chosen in the past. I’m also straightforward with my clients: I’m NOT the right photographer for everyone! I want clients who choose me to fall in love with my styling, my experience, my editing, and the way I interact with their children! So, how do you know if I’m right for you?
Decide on what’s important to you: For many families, there are things that they value above anything else in their search for a photographer. For some, it’s a stress-free experience, and for others, it’s the price of the investment, or the distance to the locations. When clients visit my website, they are able to find answers to their most-asked questions and come to me prepared and equipped for success! Visit our family info page here.
Rely on experiences of other clients: If you’re wondering whether you should book with one Dallas/Fort Worth photographer over another, simply check their reviews! Google is the perfect place to read what other clients have said, and read about their experiences. I have plenty of reviews on Google, including this super sweet one from a maternity client: “Paula recently took my maternity pictures and I have to say it was a wonderful experience. I am usually so stressed and never know what to wear for family pictures. Paula not only made me feel beautiful, but has a true talent for photography. She has the best taste and I can’t say enough about her style. Paula coached me through the whole session and I had so much fun. I was so relaxed throughout the shoot. I absolutely loved the way Paula styled me. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you Paula for making me feel beautiful and capturing this special moment. I can’t wait to take future newborn and family pictures with you!”
Make sure the style aligns with what you want: If you are looking at a portfolio or blog of a photographer and thinking, “I want my images to be more boho”, or “I’d like more natural light or more formal poses”, then don’t select that photographer. Keep your search going until you find a photographer where the style is consistent throughout their work and you’ll know that’s what you’ll get, too. My personal style is authentic, natural, and timeless, and I’m happy to share portfolio images with anyone who wants a good idea of my style. I have plenty of blogs available, as well as galleries on my website!
