Favorite Locations in the Dallas Fort Worth Area

Over the years, I’ve been lucky to photograph families in some of the prettiest little locations in the DFW area. From rolling trails to golden sunlight dancing off the lake, these are the kind of places that make you want to slow down and soak in the moment. If you’re looking for the perfect backdrop for your next family or maternity session, here are a few of my favorite spots.

Murrell Park – Flower Mound Locations

This one is a showstopper. If we catch it just right, the tall grasses wave gently in the breeze and that golden light settles in just right over the lake. There are quiet pockets of wildflowers and rocky outcroppings that look beautiful in soft, neutral tones. You can peek at Murrell Park right here if you’re curious.

Northwest Community Park – Saginaw

It’s a little more tucked away and just perfect for families with young kids. There are wide open fields and sweet little trees that turn the softest shades in the fall. It’s easy to get to and has such a peaceful, friendly feel to it. Here’s the official page with directions and info.

A Hidden Gem of Locations in Decatur

I also have a favorite location in Decatur. I won’t give away too much, because it’s one of those spots I’ve held close over time. Let’s just say it’s got the dreamiest light, gorgeous views, and a quiet charm that always makes for magic. Secret Park in Lake Worth

This one has all the goodness—tall trees, a touch of water, and when the light filters through just right, it looks like something straight out of a painting. I love bringing families here when they want something a little different but still timeless and beautiful.

Arbor Hills Nature Preserve – Plano

It’s a bit further out for some families, but worth every mile. There are trails, open fields, and a lookout point that just glows at sunset. If you’re up for a little walk, there’s a lot to explore. You can check it out here.
